The SPIE Group Acquires the EI WHS Ltd Company and Reinforces its Presence in the UK

CERGY, France - SPIE today announces the signature of an agreement for the acquisition of EI WHS Ltd.

Owned by the Staveley Engineering Services group, EI WHS is a specialist Electrical and Instrumentation services provider dedicated to the industrial sector and in particular the power generation including nuclear power, Oil & Gas (on-shore and off-shore platforms) and other specialist markets.

Based on a strong engineering skills and track record, EI WHS offers a full range of technical services, notably including, project management, design, installation, commissioning, maintenance and ATEX inspection.

Among its major customers, EI WHS has established long term relationships with large groups such as Alstom Power, Conoco Philips and Rolls Royce.

Headquarted in the North-East of England, EI WHS supports its customers from 5 locations and currently employs circa 326 employees. Total turnover for the last fiscal year ended as of May 31st, 2009 amounted to 48.3 MGBP and is expected to grow significantly over this year.

“With its Power Generation activity, EI WHS positions SPIE within the UK power generation market, for both nuclear and thermal stations, which enjoys a fast growth profile and provides good mid and long term revenue visibility. As well as a presence in the Oil & Gas market for which forecasts are robust” stated Grahame Ludlow in charge of all SPIE group activities in the UK and Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of SPIE Matthew Hall.

“This acquisition is in line with the SPIE’s strategy to expand its activities in Europe and reinforce its presence in the UK originated with the acquisition of Matthew Hall in 2007″, commented Gauthier Louette, Chief Executive Officer of the SPIE group.

The acquisition should be finalized by the end of September 2009.
