Total Must get Serious About Seeking a Solution to the Unoffical Dispute at Lindsey Says Unite

LONDON - Assistant general secretary, Les Bayliss said:
“Total refused to meet with ACAS and the unions last Friday even though unofficial action was spreading across the country. On Monday Unite will be available to sit down with the employers to assist with negotiations. Its time for Total to get serious about seeking a resolution to the problems at Lindsey. Their behaviour so far has only served to heighten the unoffical dispute.”
“The country is at the height of a recession, there is a great deal of uncertainty in the construction industry. Instead of showing sensitivity and good management, employers are treating construction workers as disposable commodities.”
