Jobs at Uttoxeter’
Unite members and workers from the Fox’s Uttoxeter factory will be
presenting Fox’s management with a petition containing over 6000 signatures
this Friday (20th March) in a bid to save their jobs.
A giant postcard for the Fox’s management team will also declare that Mr
Bardon, Chief Executive, should save the site at Uttoxeter along with the 800
local jobs.
Unite members will be presenting the petition to Stefan Bardon, Chief
Executive and Graham Hunter, a member of the Northern Food’s management team,
along with the giant ‘cut out’ postcard and sacks full of postcards sent to
the company by customers supporting the workers.
Unite convener, Claire Boot, said: “We have had overwhelming support from
the local community who are as passionate about the factory staying in
Uttoxeter as the workforce. The deluge of signatures and postcards we have
had in just a few short weeks is a vindication of this.
“At Uttoxeter the workforce is committed. This fight to save their
factory shows what we all know, that they are dedicated and can take on
challenges and succeed.
“We are hoping that all our campaigning will help the Northern Foods
board make their decision in our favour and turn Uttoxeter into the
’super-site’ for Fox’s biscuits.”
