They mixed. They mastered. They worked tirelessly to create a fist pump-worthy track. Now, seven finalists will spin their way to the top for a chance to turn tables at the Vegas Spin-Off on Sept. 26 and compete for the grand prize. The seven finalists include: Dereksen Beck, Eric De La Torre, David Veith, Josh Abrams, Nicholas Gianopoulos, Ted Vinzon, and Timothy Wong.
The panel of judges includes Grammy Award-winner Lil Jon, chart-topping duo LMFAO, DJ VICE, Markus Schulz and Sol Shafer, Marquee Nightclub’s director of special operations and music. The grand prize winner will receive an all-expense paid, VIP trip to Las Vegas, the opportunity to open at Surrender Nightclub at Encore at Wynn Las Vegas, a $10,000 in-home recording studio, $1,500 in PUMA apparel and a $500 Visa gift card.
Amateur spinners submitted their original tracks, which were voted on by fans. These seven finalists came out on top as the cream of the DJ crop, and will be flown to Las Vegas to perform in a spin-off event at Marquee Nightclub & Dayclub at The Cosmopolitan of Las Vegas on Sept. 26. The finalists’ live performances will be filmed and later judged by the entire celebrity panel, with the winner announced shortly thereafter.
The Vegas Spin-Off DJ contest is sponsored by the Las Vegas Convention and Visitors Authority, and seeks the latest electronic music prodigy whose passion for beats and rhythm translates to the turntables.
