PRAGUE, May 10, 2011 - The congress of the ERA-EDTA (European Renal Association and European
Dialysis and Transplant Association) is the biggest congress in Europe on
nephrology and renal replacement therapy. You are cordially invited to attend
this Congress.

The Opening Press Conference will be held on Thursday 23rd June, 11 am
(Corinthia Hotel).

Topic: Can the high level of cardiovascular risk among the European
population be reduced by improved kidney disease prevention?

Background: Cardiovascular disease is the main cause of death in Europe.
New findings have shown that kidney diseases go hand in hand with
cardiovascular disease. Reduced kidney function damages the heart and our
circulation. WHO has therefore classified kidney disease as a high-risk
factor.

On Friday 24th June, 11 am the Late Breaking Trials (LBT) - Press
Briefing will be held.

Among the anticipated findings are the following:

- The CONTRAST study has been evaluating the outcome of high efficiency
hemodiafiltration vs. low flux hemodialysis.

- The BEAM study investigated whether bardoxolone methyl can be used to
stop loss of kidney function among patients with chronic kidney disease who
are not yet on dialysis.

- The MASTERPLAN study evaluated whether strict implementation of current
guidelines directed at multiple treatment targets with the help of a nurse
practitioner improves cardiovascular outcome in CKD patients.

We look forward to your attending the Congress and would ask you for
accreditation and/or your prior registration for the press briefing by email
to albers@albersconcept.de.
