AEGON Asset Management Appoints McPherson to European Equity Team

EDINBURGH, Scotland, January 21 - AEGON Asset Management has bolstered its European equity team with the
appointment of Pauline McPherson as a senior investment manager.

McPherson joins the team from Standard Life Investments where she was
investment director European equities. She originally joined SLI in 2000,
joining as investment director global equities and achieved three years
out-performance whilst managing its global equity portfolio. She
subsequently moved on to become investment director European equities
before leaving to establish a riding school and become a riding instructor
in 2005.

In 2008, she rejoined SLI as investment director European equities with
responsibility for managing its GBP1bn European Trust.

Prior to SLI, McPherson was senior portfolio manager in the Latin
American team at AEGON Asset Management (formerly Scottish Equitable Asset
Management).

She has 20 years experience managing European, Latin American and Global
equity mandates. At AEGON Asset Management, she will report to Stuart
Fraser head of European equities.

Pauline will cover the insurance, healthcare and construction sectors
among others.
