‘Anti-Eco’ Music Viral

Wannabe celeb Dan Power is releasing the World’s first ever ‘anti-eco’
single -’Energy Wasting Day’ (Wednesday 1st April 2009). In his debut music
video, Dan Power (a self-confessed carbon junkie and Jeremy Clarkson fan) is
seen cavorting with a group of girls pole dancing around patio heaters,
riding a gas guzzling motorbike and advocating all kinds of ways to
needlessly waste energy.

Dan’s ‘Energy Wasting Day’ music viral will be seeded on the internet in
the run up to April 1st encouraging viewers to visit
www.energywastingday.com to download the track, buy collectible
T-shirts, and become friends via his Facebook, MySpace and Twitter pages.

The campaign is the brainchild of Together (www.together.com), the
UK’s leading climate change campaign, which created Energy Wasting Day as an
April Fool spoof in response to research suggesting that over a third of UK
consumers are willing to do more to fight climate change in their lives if
the issue is made more fun, and less serious.

David Hall, Campaign Director of Together, said: “We’ve all got a bit of
Dan Power in us and by poking fun at his antics Energy Wasting Day reminds us
all how silly it is to waste energy. With any luck, Dan’s single will take
the charts by storm.”

Together.com makes it easier and cheaper for people to fight climate
change in their everyday lives. All proceeds generated from Energy Wasting
Day will go to Together which is run by independent charity, The Climate
Group.
