ARCADIS Expands Remediation Contract in the U.S.
By Arcadis Nv, PRNESunday, January 10, 2010
AMSTERDAM, January 11 - ARCADIS (EURONEXT: ARCAD), the international design, consulting,
engineering and management services company, today announced that its GRiP(R)
contract for environmental remediation with Atlantic Richfield Company, a BP
affiliate, has been expanded. Under the contract another portfolio was added,
representing a contract value of close to $30 million.
The earlier contract with Atlantic Richfield Company, which ARCADIS won
in August 2009, involves environmental remediation and site closure for a
portfolio with existing environmental liabilities. ARCADIS applies the
GRiP(R) (Guaranteed Remediation Program) approach to these sites to assure
that each site in the portfolio will meet the environmental cleanup standards
set by the regulators. The contract expansion underlines ARCADIS strong
position in the U.S. environmental market, based on its strong and innovative
remediation capabilities and proven success in GRiP(R) contract execution.
Commenting on this contract expansion, Gary Coates, President of ARCADIS
US Environmental Division said: "We are glad that Atlantic Richfield awarded
us an additional portfolio of sites to remediate under our GRiP(R) program.
This shows that our commitment to meet Atlantic Richfield's expectations has
been recognized by our client. The GRiP(R) approach enables clients to
redirect their resources to core business activities and drive more of their
environmental expenditures towards reducing their liabilities within a fixed
period of time."
