DOHA, Qatar - Dr. Al-Horr: Barwa Will Set New Standards for Sustainability, Ecological Impact and Green Building Design in the Region

BARWA Real Estate Company (BARWA), one of the premier organizations in the State of Qatar, and Qatari Diar, a leading company in sustainable development projects in Qatar and the world, have announced their joint partnership as Real Estate Sponsors for the Global City Forum, the sustainable urban development forum attracting more than 1,000 city & political leaders from 43 countries taking place in Abu Dhabi on 7 and 8 April.

The Qatari real estate conglomerates, BARWA and Qatari Diar, will be represented at the Global City Forum by Dr. Yousif Al-Horr, BARWA’s President of Strategy and Investment. Dr. Al-Horr will present the role of the private sector alongside with the governmental organizations in developing a comprehensive Green Building Framework that consists of Green Building Design Guidelines, Sustainability Rating System and Energy Standards. His presentation will tackle the approach, methodology used in developing the framework and its relationship with global standards and best practices in the area of Sustainability and Green Buildings. This achievement was accomplished through a strategic partnership and attraction of the most leading global and local research centers and industry experts.

“Development of new standards for sustainability, ecological impact and green building design in the region is a major objective derived from a global concern to further facilitating a futuristic approach towards saving our planet the earth” said Dr. Al-Horr.
