Beam Networks Awarded Grant From the Israeli Office of the Chief Scientist to Support Development of 60 GHz Wireless Analog Transceiver Technology

TEL AVIV, Israel - Beam Networks Ltd. (www.beamnetworks.com), an emerging developer of 60 GHz wireless transceiver technology, announced today that the company has been awarded a grant totaling approximately NIS 1.6 million (US$420,000) from Israel’s prestigious Office of the Chief Scientist (OCS).

This new funding from the OCS will be utilized to support the further development of Beam’s 60 GHz wireless transceiver which is based on combining silicon germanium RF circuits, an extremely small array of antenna patches and unique analog beam steering technology.

Avigdor Berlin, Chief Operating Officer of Beam Networks, stated, “We are extremely pleased to receive this endorsement and support from the Office of the Chief Scientist. Funding from the OCS will enable Beam’s 60 GHz transceiver technology to play a leading role in future high-capacity wireless networks.”
