Berlin Days in China Open at EXPO in Shanghai - the Future is Made in Berlin

SHANGHAI, June 1, 2010 - The EXPO 2010 in Shanghai witnessed the start of Berlin Days.
The series of Berlin-related events was launched by Berlin Mayor and Senator
for Economics, Technology, and Women's Affairs Harald Wolf. Until June 5, the
German capital and its be Berlin campaign will present the Berlin Days in
Shanghai and Shenzhen under the motto "The Future is Made in Berlin".

"Berlin is a city of culture; an open, young city that is dynamically
changing and developing. Thanks to the Berlin Days and a wealth of innovative
projects, Berlin will have a very strong presence at the EXPO Shanghai 2010."
About 100 executives of Chinese companies gathered for an
investors' conference in Shanghai on May 31. It was organized by Berlin
Partner and attended by businessmen and representatives of the National
Development and Reform Commission in Beijing. Others included a business
delegation from Shijiazhuang with whom Berlin has close economic ties.
Several speakers, as representatives of Huawei Technologies, discussed doing
business in Berlin, where Huawei opened a research and development center
last year.
On June 1, Mayor and Senator Wolf opened the "Berlin Square"
on the EXPO site. The Berlin Days economic program ends on June 3 with a
business conference organized by the Chamber of Industry and Commerce. The
accompanying 30 Berlin-based companies will be able to establish contacts
with Chinese companies. The focus will be on the energy, traffic and
transport, water and creative industries.
