Bollywood Star Sofia Hayat Entertains Gurkhas on her Decompression Tour

LONDON, April 1, 2010 - Bollywood star Sofia Hayat has just flown back from Cyprus, where she
has been entertaining the Gurkhas, as part of her 3 day Decompression
tour. A singer and supermodel back home in India, Sophia has been the
Gurkha's sweetheart for 3 years.

"I have got to know these brave young men. They are humble and
courageous, with hearts of gold. Whenever I go to entertain them, I hear
stories of their wounded and dead, it breaks my heart. I am disgusted at
the treatment of the Ghurkas by the government knowing that some older
ghurkas who live in the UK, live in such poor conditions, they can't
even afford to buy a cup of tea from the cheapest coffee shop."

Sofia, who will be appearing in the BBC's Jonathan Creek this Easter
alongside Sheridan Smith and Alan Davies, has been on a 3 day tour,
where she performed songs from her new album "Dishonour",
released later this summer.
