LONDON, May 18, 2010 - What would get you jumping out of bed on a Monday morning and rushing
downstairs for breakfast? The Actimel A.M. Poll has revealed that Girls Aloud
star Cheryl Cole is our favoured celebrity breakfast partner, with celebrity
chef Jamie Oliver topping the list of those who we would most want to cook us
the perfect breakfast.
Cheryl came out on top in the poll of more than 3,000 people, with nearly
a third of men questioned (30%) choosing the X Factor judge to help get them
up in the morning. Women fancied the idea of drinking their morning coffee
with Pirates of the Caribbean heartthrob Johnny Depp, followed by comedian
and intellectual heavyweight Stephen Fry, who came third in the overall list.
And who best to rustle up this perfect breakfast than healthy food
campaigner Jamie Oliver, with over a quarter of those asked handpicking the
cheeky chappy to be their personal chef. Fiery chef Gordon Ramsay proved he
could be relied upon to serve up anything but a kitchen nightmare, coming
second, with sumptuous food goddess Nigella Lawson a tempting third.
Rob Bayne from Actimel, said, "We wanted to uncover the things that would
make us want to take on the day and not continually reach for the snooze
button. Our poll found that mornings were by the far the most stressful time
of day, with nearly two thirds of those asked (65%) saying that they were not
at their best in the mornings. But it turns out that, with Cheryl or Johnny
waiting at the breakfast table, most of us would spring out of bed rather
than grab another five minutes sleep!"
Bayne added, "We found that a shocking four in ten people currently do
not have breakfast every morning, which is essential to getting a really
great start to your day. A healthy, balanced breakfast and some exercise in
your morning routine will definitely help you to begin the day with a
positive can-do mindset."
Other findings from the Actimel A.M. Poll included: - Nearly one in five of us (18%) have had an accident or mishap in the morning because we were running late or rushing around - Nearly half (46%) of all those questioned said that they had put an item of clothing on back to front because they weren't awake
