BERLIN and XIAMEN, China, September 6, 2010 - Chinese investor interest in Germany continued to increase
despite the economic downturn. Germany Trade & Invest will be presenting
opportunities for Chinese companies to benefit from the excellent investment
conditions in Germany at this year's China International Fair for Investment
and Trade (CIFIT) from September 8 - 11 in Xiamen, the largest fair on the
subject of investment promotion in China.

There are currently ca. 800 Chinese companies active in
Germany. According to the most recent data made available this year from the
Deutsche Bundesbank, Chinese FDI stocks in Germany increased by 33 percent to
EUR 568 million in 2008 compared to the previous year, despite the global
economic downturn. According to Financial Times Group's fDi Markets database,
the number of investment projects in 2009 more than doubled in comparison to
2008. Germany thereby accounted for 41 percent of all Chinese investment
projects in Europe.

The combination of Europe's strongest economy and largest
market, together with a reputation for high quality "Made in Germany"
products, make Germany the ideal springboard for Chinese companies to
establish their products and services in the highly profitable European
market. Several well known Chinese companies, such as Huawei, Sany and ZTE,
have already gained a foothold in Germany, while an increasing number are
discovering Germany's attractive investment environment. Sun Shubao, General
Manager of Haier Europe, confirms these sentiments: "Germany is our strategic
focus. It is necessary in our industry to come to Germany since it represents
the largest market in Europe. This creates major advantages for our company,
making an investment in Germany an absolute necessity for Haier."

Germany Trade & Invest will be represented for the sixth
consecutive year with a stand at this year's CIFIT. Representatives from
Germany Trade & Invest will be present along with the federal states of
Bavaria, Brandenburg, Hamburg, North Rhine-Westphalia, Rhineland-Palatinate,
as well as the Frankfurt Rhine/Main region. The stand will be located in
building 1 with the number D069.

Germany Trade & Invest is the foreign trade and inward
investment promotion agency of the Federal Republic of Germany. The
organization advises foreign companies looking to expand their business
activities in the German market. It provides information on foreign trade to
German companies that seek to enter foreign markets.
