LOS ANGELES -

Morris Polich & Purdy LLP is pleased to announce that, for the first time, four of the world’s leading climate change experts came together at 4pm on 29th September 2009 to explain, in layman’s terms, what climate change really is. The seminar, designed for insurance professionals, was held in the Old Library of the Lloyd’s building in London.

The panel consisted of Professor John Harries (Space and Atmospheric Physics Department (SPAT)) Imperial College, London; Dr. Richard Allan (Environmental Systems Science Centre (ESSC)) University of Reading; Dr. Grant Matthews, Calibration Scientist, and Walter Lipsman, Esq., Environmental Attorney, Morris Polich & Purdy LLP, Los Angeles.

A newly-discovered technique for measuring climate change was revealed at the seminar, which could affect ways that insurance professionals assess potential risks and policies needed for the future.

“We are very excited to have the opportunity to bring together a panel of such distinguished individuals,” says Managing Partner Don Ridge. “They explained the complexities and implications of climate change in a way that we can all understand and also how it can now be measured with new techniques. They also provided an update on climate change litigation in the USA.”
