LONDON, December 7 -

    - GBP1.4 Million Spent Online Today at 13:43 in Just one Minute

    - The Busiest Minute for Online Retail Sales Saw a 61% Like-for-Like
      Increase on Last Year

    - Between 13:00 and 14:00 Retail Sales Peaked at GBP33 Million, an
      Increase of 21%

    - The Busiest Online Shopping Day Ever, is Forecasted to End on a High at
      GBP534M up 16%

Retail Decisions (ReD), a world leader in card fraud prevention, payment
processing and card issuing, predicts that UK online retail spend will peak
today, reaching a massive GBP534 million and making it the busiest UK online
shopping day ever. ReD forecasts that internet shopping will increase by as
much as 16% on the same period last year, demonstrating consumers' renewed
confidence in the economy.

The busiest online shopping hour was between 13:00 and 14:00,
when retailers start heavily discounting and consumers looked to scoop a
Christmas bargain during their lunch break, spending a combined total of
GBP33 million online in this hour alone. According to ReD, a massive GBP1.4
million
was spent at 13:43 making today the busiest online shopping minute
ever.

Unfortunately, fraudsters are also likely to try and spend
more online this Christmas. The average attempted fraudulent transaction,
that ReD prevents, is tracking at GBP232, 83% more than the genuine shoppers'
average of GBP127. Trends, generated by ReD's industry leading fraud
prevention systems, show how fraudsters keep trying to find new ways of
taking advantage of online retailers, especially during the busiest time of
the year.

Carl Clump, CEO of Retail Decisions, commented; "Looking at
our data, the must-have products criminals have attempted to purchase
fraudulently this Christmas are the Toshiba Satellite Laptop L450D, the Sony
Play Station Slim and Netbooks. Typically, fraudsters favour the very latest
high-value, electronic goods as they tend to have a good resale value on the
black market."

ReD has identified that the top ten most fraudulent delivery
addresses are all in and around London. IG, SE and E postcodes come out top
with Barking, Plaistow, Thamesmead and Canning Town accounting for 5% of the
UK online fraud attempts prevented by ReD. Other high-risk areas include
Barnet, Walthamstow, Peckham, Milton Keynes, Hatfield and Southend-on-Sea.

David Smith, Director of Operations, at IMRG commented, "With
more and more consumers taking advantage of the convenience and price savings
available online, it is no surprise that today will see the highest sales
ever online in a single day. As shoppers go online to bag the Christmas
bargains our latest research discovered that nearly three quarters of
internet shoppers will be doing half or more of their total Christmas
shopping online."
