DIEMEN, Netherlands, October 19, 2010 - The Dutch company Tuk Tuk Factory presents the first fully electric
version of the well known Asian Tuk Tuk to the European market. The market
introduction of the flamboyantly fun and green Tuk Tuk will take place on the
19th of October at the eCarTec in Műnchen, the biggest fair in e-mobility.
Tuk Tuk Factory aims to find potential European partners for sales &
distribution.

Tuk Tuk Factory is the first to develop and to obtain their European Type
approval for 3 models electric Tuk Tuk. The company can deliver a 3-seater, a
6-seater and a cargo version to all EU countries. Prices range is expected
competitively in between 11.000 euro and 14.000 euro. Delivery time is 3
months, and a driver license B is needed.

To meet the requirements of the European market and legislation, the
vehicle has been redesigned from scratch. Chief Engineer Dennis Harte says:
'We took the biggest battery we could possibly imagine as a starting point,
and then designed the vehicle around that battery. A 15kWh lead acid battery
drives the silent and maintenance free AC motor. The chassis has been
designed to carry the 400 kilos of the humongous battery. '

The quality of the classic gasoline Tuk Tuk does not comply to the
environmental, quality and safety requirements in Europe. The electric Tuk
Tuks
however are ideal for short rides in the city, and therefore for
electric transmission. The vehicles are silent, Zero Emission, and low-cost.
Since one year, a number of electric retrofit prototypes are driving in the
cities of Amsterdam and Rotterdam. In the experience of Tuk Tuk Factory
sufficient autonomy to drive an 8-hours city cycle is the most important
success factor for the vehicle. Unlike many small city EVs ((Electric
Vehicles), the Tuk Tuk's huge battery provides for a sufficient autonomy of
70 to 80 kilometers.

According to Roland Vos, director of Tuk Tuk Factory, the vehicle
differentiates itself through the combination of green & fun. This makes the
electric Tuk Tuk a mobile billboard. The vehicle will save a lot of fuel cost
per kilometer, but add revenue through the advertising potential. He expects
to sell the vehicle mainly as city shuttle, event vehicle , or city cargo
vehicle. Service will be delivered in co-operation with Carrus, one of the
biggest EV parts suppliers in Europe.
