LONDON - The last two quarters have been so dire in terms of economic growth that the Economist Intelligence Unit rules out any hope of recovery this year. For the ordinary person in the street, there will not be any sign of improvement until 2011.
The global turmoil will continue with growing signs of social unrest and unemployment, says EIU director Robin Bew. Even those who believe that the price of oil is set to turn up will be disappointed - there are no economic grounds for optimism there.
