Greenberg Traurig Maher Further Expands with the Addition of Stephen Gare to Head IP/IT Practice

Greenberg Traurig Maher LLP, the recently established London office of international law firm Greenberg Traurig, LLP, announced that Stephen Gare will join the firm to head its Intellectual Property and Information Technology Practice in the UK. The addition brings the number of shareholders in the rapidly-growing office to nine.

Stephen joins Greenberg Traurig Maher from Mayer Brown’s London office, where he was one of the firm’s global practice leaders as well as being head of its IP/IT group in London and London General Counsel. “He is renowned for his niche expertise in the music industry” according to the 2009 edition of the Chambers & Partners UK Directory.

Stephen has been involved in transactional work, litigation and counseling in all areas of intellectual property law and a wide variety of industries during his career.

“Stephen has outstanding and extensive experience in the IP and IT arenas,” said Paul Maher, Chairman of Greenberg Traurig Maher’s London office. “This experience will allow us to further grow the practice in the UK.”

Stephen, who was admitted in England and Wales in 1976 received his Law degree from Trinity Hall, Cambridge and a MA, in Business Law, specialising in intellectual property and anti-trust, from London Metropolitan University in 1986.
