LONDON, May 27, 2010 - Mum has come out tops in the classic conversation starter of who would
you invite to a dream dinner party - from an online competition released
yesterday by McCain Sweet Potato.

For once, celebs were snubbed in favour of the leading lady in all of our
lives, mum - who beat off competition from world class comedians, Hollywood
heart throbs and international popstars.

Second place went to boffin Stephen Fry, with beauties Robbie Williams,
David Beckham and Johnny Depp coming third, fourth and fifth, showing that
brains beat beauty to the table.

Gordon Brown may have lost out on the election, but he beat fellow
politicians to win the sixth seat around the dream dinner table, with David
Cameron
bagging seventh place and poor Nick Clegg left out in the cold.

Elvis, Lady Ga Ga and Cheryl Cole completed the top ten, bringing music
and entertainment to the table - not to mention an interesting clash of
outfits.

The competition also revealed that the favourite location to host the
dream dinner party was at our own humble abode, with the beach coming a close
second.

Chris Lever, Senior Product Manager, for McCain Foods said: "How
refreshing that instead of celebrities, most of us would prefer to spend our
dream dinner party with our own mums - the original and best star in all of
our lives."

The results were revealed following a competition run by McCain, where
consumers were asked to say who they would want at their dream dinner party,
where it would be held and what they would eat - visit
www.mccainsweetpotato.co.uk to see all the entertaining entrants.
Every visitor also gets a 50p off coupon on McCain Sweet Potato with rosemary
and garlic.

McCain Sweet Potato is available from all major supermarkets,
nation-wide. RRP GBP1.99 for 400g.
