BOZEN, SUD-TIROL, Italy, September 19, 2011 -
Health Robotics today announced that it recently won the 5th Annual Edition of the prestigious Club Meccatronica Award. Mechatronics is an interdisciplinary area of engineering that combines mechanical and electrical engineering and computer science. Examples of mechatronic systems are robots, digitally controlled machines, self-adaptive tools, automated guided vehicles, etc., all integrated with a prominent amount of system knowledge and embedded software. The award’s presentation is scheduled for tomorrow at the Reggio Emilia’s Valli Theater, by Ferrari’s CEO Luca Cordero di Montezemolo, and during the international seminar “Mechatronics 360°: How Mechatronics Technology Will Change Our Everyday Lives“.
“As this award spans all industries [not only our Pharmaceutical sector], it is indeed a very proud moment for all of Health Robotics in general and, especially for our CTO Fabio Fioravanti in particular, who introduced our world-leading robots i.v.STATION, i.v.STATION ONCO, CytoCare, and TPNstation to the selection committee. Capping a great trimester, Health Robotics equally won 100% of the entire world’s announced purchases of Intravenous Sterile Compounding Robots over the past consecutive 21 months,” stated Gaspar DeViedma, Health Robotics’ Executive Vice President.
The 5th Edition Club Meccatronica jury panel was composed of: Stefano Landi (Reggio Emilia Industrial President), Alberto Bombassei (Vice President of Industrial Relations, Confindustria), Luca De Biase (Nòva24 Editorial Director), Cesare Fantuzzi (University of Modena & Reggio Emilia Professor), Enzo Rullani (Venice International University Professor), Aimone Storchi (Club Meccatronica President), and Auro Palomba (Community President). The jury collectively stated: “We recognize Health Robotics for its innovative research and development of technical solutions resulting in its achieving the global leadership position within the robotics pharmacy sector, particularly with its original global deployment of a Cancer Therapy robot, followed by a 2nd generation of sterile compounding robots aimed to improve patient safety within Infusion Therapy.”
About Health Robotics:
Founded in 2006, Health Robotics is the undisputed global leading supplier of life-critical intravenous medication robots, winning 100% of all worldwide IV Robot’s publicly announced purchases over the past 21 months, and providing over 200 hospital installations in 6 continents with robotics-based technology and software automation solutions. Health Robotics’ world-leading solutions CytoCare® and i.v.STATION® ONCO [hazardous IVs], i.v.STATION® [non-hazardous IVs], i.v.SOFT® [workflow engine for manual compounding], MEDarchiver® [life-critical clinical information system], and TPNstation™ [totally-automated parenteral nutrition] have and will greatly contribute to ease hospitals’ growing pressures to improve patient safety, increase throughput and contain costs. Through the effective and efficient production of sterile, accurate, tamper-evident and ready-to-administer IVs, Health Robotics’ products help hospitals eliminate life-threatening drug and diluent exchange errors, decrease other medical mistakes and sterility risks, work more efficiently, reduce waste and controlled substances’ diversion, and diminish the gap between rising patient volume/acuity and scarce medical, nursing, and pharmacy staff.
