COLOGNE, Germany -
- Rheinbraun Brennstoff GmbH Presents Innovative Product Solutions for Waste-gas and Water Treatment at the 2009 Entsorga-Enteco Trade Fair
COLOGNE, Germany, October 22 /PRNewswire/ –
From 27 to 30 October, Rheinbraun Brennstoff GmbH (RBB) will present innovative product solutions for waste-water and waste-gas cleaning that are based on HOK activated coke produced from Rhenish lignite at the Entsorga-Enteco trade fair in Cologne.
This rotary hearth furnace coke produced by RWE Power AG, which is used in the capture of pollutants and is marketed worldwide by RBB under the brand name “Activated Lignite HOK(R)”, has special properties that yield an adsorbent and catalyst, which is in demand in numerous environmental fields.
Typical applications - besides waste water and drinking water treatment - include waste-gas and waste-air cleaning in refuse incineration and in the steel industry, where HOK is deployed globally as low-cost and highly effective sorbent.
Rising demand for highly effective adsorbent
RWE Power is the only producer of lignite-based activated carbon worldwide. It is produced using an especially applied pyrolysis and activation process which creates the special properties of HOK. The process, which has been optimized on a basis of decades of experience, guarantees a low-priced bulk product at a constant high quality level. At present, some 200,000 tons of activated lignite are produced in compliance with DIN ISO 9001 per year.
To enable the company to go on meeting the growing demand, RBB has recently rented additional silo capacities, increasing the maximum storage capacity for HOK to a total of 10,000 tons. The activated carbon derived from Rhenish lignite is offered in four grain sizes - from granules to super-milled HOK Super.
This year, RBB will again be represented at the Entsorga-Enteco trade fair in order to present holistic solutions for waste-gas and waste-water treatment using HOK. Entsorga-Enteco is the international trade fair for recycling management and environmental technology. This year’s event will focus on the key topics of climate and resource protection and energy efficiency. Having attracted over 40,000 visitors from more than 100 countries the last time it was held, this trade fair is an excellent forum for RBB to present innovative product solutions in the area of environmental technology to qualified visitors from Germany and abroad.
The environmental fair takes place from 27 to 30 October 2009 in the exhibition halls of the Cologne trade fair company, Koelnmesse. Interested trade visitors are welcome to visit representatives of Rheinbraun Brennstoff GmbH at stand A 046 in hall 7.1during opening hours (9 a.m. to 6 p.m.).
