TOKYO, April 26, 2010 - Ricoh Co., Ltd., has announced that the Alex Prager Photo Exhibition
"Week-end" will be held starting April 28, 2010 (Wed.) at Ricoh Photo Gallery
RING CUBE located in the Ginza district of Tokyo. This is Alex Prager's first
solo exhibition in Japan. It was arranged in collaboration with the
internationally prominent London gallery Michael Hoppen Contemporary*.
"Week-end" exhibits 18 color photographs with an impact that is both bizarre
and intense. All the works being exhibited are original prints, with the
largest being approximately 120 cm by 180 cm. Prager herself has said that
she is "documenting a world that exists and doesn't exist at the same time."
Although the world shown in "Week-end" is an illusion, it is portrayed in a
way that makes it more real than the real world.

At Ricoh, our ambition is for RING CUBE to be not only "a place to
display and appreciate photographs," but also a gathering place for people
who want to both enjoy photographs and express themselves through photographs
and a place that expands the possibilities of photography. We will continue
to hold exhibitions presenting the works of a wide range of photographers,
both professional and amateur.

*The Michael Hoppen Contemporary gallery was created in 2000 within the
Michael Hoppen Gallery, a London gallery well known throughout the world. It
exhibits the works of established as well as up-and-coming artists from many
countries, including the United Kingdom, Japan, the United States, and the
Netherlands

[Alex Prager Profile]

Alex Prager was born in Los Angeles in 1979. In her early 20s, she
devoted herself to photography after seeing an exhibition of the photographs
of William Eggleston at the Getty Museum. She eschewed art school and began
studying photography on her own, learning equipment and lighting through
trial and error. Since then her photographs have been exhibited in Los
Angeles
, New York, Miami, London and elsewhere and have been presented in a
number of publications, including "Details," "i-D," "Tank," "Elle Japon,"
"MOJO," and "Complex." She will have a solo show in June 2010 at Michael
Hoppen Contemporary in London.
