Over 70% of space already booked, educational component added, Cirque du Soleil confirmed for reinstated Gala Dinner
PRINCETON, New Jersey, October 12, 2010 - CPhI Worldwide, Paris — Informex (www.informex.com/), the leading
meeting place for buyers and sellers of high-value chemistry for a broad
range of applications, today announced that over 70% of exhibitor space is
now booked for its flagship InformexUSA event (Charlotte, NC, February 7-10,
2011) with 344 exhibitors from 20 countries already confirmed. Event
organizers UBM Live also reported a positive response to its call for
presentations for the inaugural educational conference program, while
revealing that the Gala Dinner in Charlotte will feature a special
performance from the world renowned Cirque du Soleil.
"Charlotte is proving an extremely popular venue as InformexUSA looks to
build on its 27 year reputation as the premier event for buyers and sellers
of chemistry and chemical services to meet and exchange critical, high-value
information," commented Informex Global Brand Director Jennifer Jessup at the
CPhI Worldwide event in Paris. "Favorable labor rates, reasonably priced
hotel accommodation and accessibility, combined with the strength of North
Carolina's pharma and biotech sectors are just a few of the reasons why
exhibitors such as Albermarle, BASF, Evonik, Lonza, SAFC and Solvay have
confirmed their participation."
New for 2011
As well as the new venue, Informex has extended its program of formal and
informal networking events for 2011 and, for the first time, will feature an
educational conference program. Running from 8 am until 11 am on the
Wednesday and Thursday of the show, the conference will comprise three tracks
on each day, covering Specialty, Pharma and General chemistry/chemical
business. Topics will include: Custom Processing; Discovery & Early
Development; Sustainability; Process Development; Pharma Manufacturing and
Regulatory & Compliance. Presentation submissions have now been received by
the Informex Conference Committee and a full agenda will be announced at the
end of October 2010.
Designed to provide a guaranteed, quality forum for chemical industry
executives to exchange industry views and information with their peers, the
2nd Informex Gala Dinner will be held on Tuesday, February 8th and will
feature a private performance from Cirque du Soleil. The event will look to
build on the success of the original dinner which was held in 2008, featured
Colin Powell as the keynote speaker and attracted over 650 guests.
"The goal of the Gala Dinner is to offer a first class networking
opportunity for the chemical industry's top tier management and we already
have 332 guests registered," continued Jessup. "We feel that 2011 is the time
to bring the dinner back as the economy has shown signs of recovery and the
show will take place in a city unfamiliar to many. By re-introducing the
dinner, we guarantee the entertainment for the most important evening of the
week and are absolutely thrilled to have been able to secure a private
performance from Cirque du Soleil."
Themed around Racecars and Robber Barons of Charlotte circa 1910 the
formal event will see the presentation of the acclaimed Informex 'Profiles in
Sustainability' Award, presented to innovators in sustainable chemistry, as
well as a donation to the ACS Green Chemistry Institute Education and
Outreach Program, from contributions made by Informex registrants.
In addition to networking events on every evening of the show,
InformexUSA 2011 will also feature a structured networking session, "Meet the
Innovators" on Tuesday 3-4pm, pre-show customer showcases, conference
sessions, plus dedicated Pharma and Specialty Customer Panels. A Poster
Pavilion, featuring innovators and academia will be introduced for the first
time and the event will be collocated with the debut of Crop World North
America, the exhibition and congress focused on sustainable crop production.
