BERLIN, July 13, 2010 - Berlin is preparing for the biggest music event of the year. Berlin Music
Week, the shared platform for shared music experience, market place and
congress. The programme is taking shape and tickets are selling fast. The
all2gethernow Congress; the Berlin Festival with 70 bands across three
stages; the two sector networks Berlin Music Commission and Clubcommission
Berlin; and the international business platform Popkomm are presenting
themselves under the umbrella brand.

The whole city will become a stage for tomorrow's trends from all genres,
occupied by a multitude of live and club events, as well as sector-specific
festivals being organised in cooperation with further partners.

The first ever Berlin Music Week takes place between the 6 and 12
September 2010
, signalling a new openness in the field for Berlin as a home
for music. With support from the Berlin Senate, the music industry is
consolidating its efforts under one roof for the first time, catering for the
needs of both music lovers and industry representatives, who can both expect
a diverse and first-rate program.

Kulturprojekte Berlin GmbH is responsible for the coordination and
marketing of the Berlin Music Week. Information about ticket sales and
combination tickets for all events can be found at

Non-stop music for fans at Tempelhof Airport

One of the central sites of the Berlin Music week is the former Tempelhof
Airport, internationally recognised as a symbol of Berlin's freedom. Popkomm,
the international market place for music and entertainment, will take place
here, opening on 7 September with the New Music Award. Popkomm offers music
fans a programme with an international slant. Partnerships have been
developed with three international showcase events. The Swedish festival
'Almost Famous' along with 'The Great Escape' from the UK and 'Primavera
Sound' from Spain are guests in Berlin with best-of showcases. Young bands
can discover fans and professionals at the Popkomm and Jazzkomm's 'day
stages' in the clubs in the immediate vicinity of the airport. The Berlin
Festival, Berlin's biggest festival for indie and electronic music, waiting
with new confirmations for their already top class programme featuring the
Editors, Adam Green, Fever Ray, LCD Soundsystem, Boys Noize and Atari Teenage
Riot. The Swedish high flyer Robyn has also announced her appearance, as have
Brits Hot Chip, performing in Berlin as one of only two European festival
appearances.

all2gethernow: The Berlin Music Week Congress bringing together fans and
sector

The all2gethernow congress offers the chance for music lovers and music
makers to come into discussion with one another. The programme begins on
Monday in the Kulturbrauerei as an open platform for discussions and panels,
shifting to Tempelhof Airport where the curated part will continue. In
addition to this, producing and song writing workshops will be offered.

Diverse music programme across the whole city

Music will also be in the spotlight in other parts of the city, with a
total of over several hundred events and concerts taking place as part of
Berlin Music Week. These will include large events such as 'WE ARE ONE' with
Paul van Dyk, Armin van Buuren and Underworld; and Berlin Clubnacht, in which
around 40 clubs can be visited with a single ticket, featuring the
world-renowned clubs Tresor, SO36, Yaam, and White Trash. The Berlin Music
Week programme is as broad as Berlin's music scene - classical music fans can
look forward to a programme including the London Philharmonic Orchestra
conducted by Vladimir Jurowski and the Berliner Philharmonic Orchestra
conducted by Sir Simon Rattle.
