EINDHOVEN, The Netherlands, September 8, 2011 -
NXP Software’s solutions for premium video services on mobile devices feature in demos around the IBC2011 exhibition
Visitors to IBC2011 can see NXP Software’s solutions for intuitive, high-quality mobile video at stands around this year’s exhibition. With multi-screen business a hot topic, NXP Software aims to show service providers how its products can help differentiate their services in a highly competitive market.
The demos feature NXP Software’s LifeVibes QuickPlayer video software for smart phones and tablets. QuickPlayer allows mobile device users to watch online premium videos, enabling intuitive access to live and on-demand content with seamless streaming over all networks (3G, 4G, WiFi).
Secure, intuitive access to extensive content with adaptive streaming
In the demos, QuickPlayer will access content over Apple’s HTTP Live Streaming (HLS) protocol in both live and on-demand modes. By supporting this protocol on Android devices, QuickPlayer allows users to access the extensive Apple content ecosystem.
Other demos highlight QuickPlayer’s security and ease of use, including support for content protection technologies such as Verimatrix’s Video Content Authority System (VCAS™) and Microsoft’s PlayReady®. The software simplifies access to PlayReady® protected content by “silently” or “non-silently” acquiring the necessary licenses.
In addition to QuickPlayer, LifeVibes CineXPlayer, NXP Software’s popular downloadable video playback app for iPad and iPhone, will be featured on devices at the show. CineXPlayer lets users enjoy leading video formats with features such as TV-out, 3D playback and one-click connection to social media sites.
