Isolux Infrastructure Wins a Further 247 km of Power Lines in Brazil

MADRID, Spain, September 5, 2011 -

Isolux Infrastructure is the multinational company, recently created to hold and operate the concessions business of the Isolux Corsán Group in toll roads, power-transmission lines and photovoltaic solar-energy generation. Today it was awarded a further 247 kilometres of transmission lines at an auction held by the Brazilian National Energy Authority (ANEEL) at the headquarters of the BM&FBovespa stock exchange, in São Paulo.

Twelve packages of transmission lines and substationswere tendered, with Isolux Infrastructure winning the one for power transmission lines from Taubaté to Nova Iguaçu (straddling the states of Rio de Janeiro and São Paulo) and the substations in Nova Iguaçu, in the state of Rio de Janeiro. This new power transmission line and the substations will form part of the Cachoeira Paulista grid, which is already operated by the company.

With a total capex of close to € 129 m (R$ 300m), the new line has a maximum of 26 months to come into operation. It is expected to produce annual revenues of € 11,99m(R$ 27.9m)The concession agreement is for 30 years, with prospects to generate 1,900 direct jobs.

With this latest contract, Isolux Infrastructure now has 5,447 kilometres of transmission lines, consolidating its position as one of the major players in the power transmission business world-wide. It also revalidates its focus on the Brazilian market.
