As a commercial centre in the region Turkey bridges 36 countries with a
total population of 830 million. Turkey plays a vital role as a host country
for millions of businesses in the EurAsia region.

Turkey's furniture exports have had an upward trend in recent years from
US $ 137,5 million in 1999 to roughly US $ 1,331 million in 2008. This is
mainly due to improvements in capacity, quality and design.

The export figure for 2008 was US $ 1,331 million, representing an
increase of 29 % on the previous year. Main export products were: car seats,
sofa beds, wooden bedroom, dining room and living room furniture.

In 2008, Turkey exported furniture to 160 countries worldwide. The main
markets for furniture exports were Germany, Iraq, France, Iran, Greece and
the United Kingdom. In recent years, Turkish furniture companies have
established showrooms in an increasing number of these countries. Contracting
is a major sector of Turkey's exported services and many companies have
undertaken construction work abroad for housing complexes, tourism projects,
hospitals and health centre projects, most of which were decorated with
Turkish furniture.

Turkish furniture is designed and made from the highest quality materials
to ensure comfort, performance and attractive appearance for a long life.
Different styles are produced such as classical, traditional and
contemporary. With designers and architects combined with a flexible
production capacity, the Turkish furniture industry can satisfy most of the
requirements of individual markets worldwide.

Turkey is among the most promising furniture suppliers in the world.

IMOB 2010- Istanbul Furniture Fair will be organized with the close
cooperation of Turkish Furniture Manufacturers Association to achieve the
expectations of the import and export targets of exhibitors and visitors.
With more than 400 exhibitors and 50,000 visitors on 120,000 sqm exhibition
ground, IMOB 2010 will feature the finest home furniture, interior design
products and many others.
