By Milliman Inc., PRNEMonday, March 1, 2010
SEATTLE, March 2, 2010 - Milliman, Inc., one of the premier global consulting and actuarial firms,
today announced that Martin Sher has joined the firm as European MG-ALFA
Product Manager. Mr. Sher joins Milliman from SolveXia where he was Managing
Director responsible for European activities. Previously he established and
managed the European operation of Classic Solutions which promoted the
MoSes(R) actuarial projection system.
"We are very happy to have Martin join us," said Bruce Winterhof,
Milliman's Life Practice Director. "He brings a wealth of knowledge and
experience of the European actuarial software market."
From a base in London, Mr. Sher will lead the marketing, sales and
support activities to expand MG-ALFA's European presence. MG-ALFA is
Milliman's actuarial modelling system for life insurance companies. Combining
proven technology and Milliman thought leadership, MG-ALFA is well positioned
to support stochastic risk-based capital calculations. "I am very excited to
be taking on this role and am confident that the MG-ALFA US market leadership
will be replicated in Europe," said Martin Sher, adding, "Solvency II is
forcing companies to revisit their actuarial models. With period-by-period
projection speed and capacity that is 10 times more efficient than legacy
systems, companies will have a new option to consider."
According to Bruce Winterhof, this appointment is a logical next step to
support Milliman's European expansion. "Software is a key component of our
service offering allowing us to work closely with our clients to implement
integrated software and consulting solutions to meet their current and future
needs," Winterhof stated.
