Ms M.H. Schultz van Haegen Steps Down as Supervisory Director of Ballast Nedam

NIEUWEGEIN, The Netherlands, October 13, 2010 - Ms M.H. Schultz van Haegen-Maas Geesteranus has been nominated for
appointment as Minister for Infrastructure and Environment.

In view of this nomination, Ms M.H. Schultz van Haegen has decided to
step down as a member of the Supervisory Board of Ballast Nedam N.V., with
immediate effect.

Ms Schultz van Haegen was appointed to the Supervisory Board of Ballast
Nedam in 2009. Given her experience in both the public and private sectors,
she was an excellent match for the profile that had been drawn up by the
Supervisory Board. It is with sadness that Ballast Nedam has accepted Ms
Schultz van Haegen's resignation. Nevertheless, the company understands and
appreciates her decision to accept the appointment to this important
position.

The Supervisory Board is considering how best to fill the vacancy that
has arisen.
