LONDON - Northrop Grumman Corporation (NYSE: NOC) announced that its Europe-based
air traffic management system subsidiary, Park Air Systems, has been awarded
a contract by prime contractor Aeronav Group to supply an extended-range VHF
communications system to the Trinidad and Tobago Civil Aviation Authority
(CAA). The system will deliver ground-to-air voice communications throughout
the country’s airspace, including the surrounding oceanic area.

“The communications solutions offered by Park Air Systems are unique in
their ability to fulfill demanding scenarios such as those found in the
Caribbean region, and we look forward to the successful completion of this
project,” said Charles Houseago, U.K. managing director for Northrop Grumman
Park Air Systems. “The Trinidad and Tobago CAA has used our company’s
products for many years, and it’s a great endorsement of both our products
and services to have them return to us.”

The high-power VHF system will deliver extended range communications; it
will be installed for operational use within the Trinidad and Tobago Piarco
Flight Information Region (FIR) in 2009 with stations installed in Trinidad
and Tobago, St Lucia, Antigua and Barbados.

The system is centered on Park Air System’s PAE T6 range of VHF
transmitters and receivers. To achieve the required communication range,
high-power variants providing 100 watt-output power have been utilized.
Remote management of all the system elements is undertaken using the
company’s Multi-Access Remote Control (MARC) system to help ensure efficient
through life support.
