By Northrop Grumman Corporation, PRNEMonday, December 7, 2009
LONDON, December 8 - Northrop Grumman Corporation (NYSE: NOC) announced that its air traffic
management systems subsidiary, Park Air Systems, has received two prestigious
key supplier performance awards from Nav Canada in recognition of its
outstanding support to Nav Canada's operations and air traffic management
systems from both Norway and U.K. operations during 2009. This is the seventh
consecutive year that the company has received a Supplier Excellence Award
from Nav Canada.
The awards are part of Nav Canada's Supplier Recognition Programme aimed
at acknowledging a supplier's outstanding support. Around 2,000 eligible
supplier companies were assessed this year from which six were selected for a
Supplier Excellence Award.
Nav Canada, the country's civil air navigation services provider,
commented in their supplier performance report, "Park Air Systems is a
pleasure to work with, very knowledgeable and has a top quality product. Park
Air Systems has an excellent instrument landing system (ILS) product, an
excellent customer service approach and an excellent track record in past ILS
contracts with Nav Canada."
The two Northrop Grumman Park Air Systems operations achieved the highest
ratings across each of the six key areas assessed by Nav Canada in its
Supplier Performance Management Programme, recording a 30% improvement over
the previous year's performance. The programme benchmarks a supplier's
performance with the aim of improving the way suppliers and customers work
together in partnership. The rating elements assessed were: responsiveness,
quality improvement, ease of use, predictability/reliability, technology and
capability.
"Our objective has been to ensure that our air traffic management
capabilities are aligned with our customers' strategic needs," said Eldar
Hauge, managing director of Northrop Grumman Park Air Systems in Norway.
"This latest assessment confirms the continuing strength of our relationship
with Nav Canada, which has developed over the years. We are proud of the
close partnership that we have with Nav Canada and look forward to extending
the scope of our strategic relationship to continue to help deliver
outstanding results."
