NOTTINGHAM, England, October 10, 2011 -

  • Award provides recognition for ‘high levels of customer service and technical excellence’
  • Big names choosing EvoEnergy to help switch to solar, including McDonald’s, Speedo and the University of Nottingham

EvoEnergy have been awarded the “Solar Installer of the Year” at the Renewables Awards, which took place on Thursday the 8th of September. It is believed their growth as one of the largest solar power companies in the UK, as well as their work with such high profile clients as Speedo and McDonald’s has contributed to this prestigious accreditation.

Hosted by comedian Michael McIntyre at the Ricoh Arena in Coventry, the ceremony aimed to celebrate and recognise the work of people, initiatives, projects, products and businesses in the renewable energy sector.

Simon Allan, Plumb Center (sponsor) said: “We want to recognise all those people who in the last two or three years have been working very hard and very quietly in the background of the renewables industry, and I think tonight is the night we can all do that. The main thing for the winners is the recognition of all the work they’ve been doing, not just this year but for a lot of years.”

Established in 2007, EvoEnergy are one of the UK’s fastest growing solar photovoltaic companies, earning their reputation as a national leader in solar power system design and installation. A provider for both domestic and commercial purposes, they have played a key part in converting the homeowner and business alike to a more sustainable source of energy.

Amongst those companies wishing to achieve more stringent green energy targets and adapt greener policies are McDonald’s, who have established a strong relationship with EvoEnergy and have many more installations being installed this year. Following research and detailed conversation, the company decided they wanted to maximise electricity generation and reduce their carbon footprint by utilising solar energy to provide lighting for their stores.

EvoEnergy have also worked with several universities to assist with their more creative solar initiatives, such as the University of Cambridge’s solar trees and the University of Sheffield’s solar farm, as well as numerous smaller businesses and a vastly increasing amount of homeowners.

The company believe that their ‘high level of customer service’ and ‘technical excellence’ they provide to their customers has contributed to the award victory. Operations Director Peter Radford said: “It’s a brilliant accolade for everyone in the company.”
