Pfizer Statement on the Life Sciences Blueprint
By Prne, Gaea News NetworkMonday, July 13, 2009
LONDON - Pfizer welcomes today’s launch of the Life Sciences Blueprint by the Office for Life Sciences, and believes that the proposals, if implemented in full measure, will materially improve the UK environment for the life sciences sector, support the NHS in its drive for innovation, and deliver a higher standard of care for UK patients.
Pfizer is also encouraged by the productive nature of the conversations with Government and in the way in which all parts of the sector - pharmaceutical, medical biotech and medical devices - have come together to work towards shared goals.
While recognising the achievements to date, however, it is important to highlight the need for continued commitment to improve and deliver on the suite of proposals as to the future of health technology appraisal and the role of NICE.
Pfizer is committed to continuing to work constructively with Government and to contribute to a genuine programme for change for life sciences in the UK.
