DOHA, Qatar - Friday’s Prime-Time Show Revealed the Two Finalists of the Contest
DOHA, Qatar, June 21 /PRNewswire/ –
At the end of the very intense semi-final of “Stars of Science”, the only Pan-Arab televised science and technology contest, only 2 projects of innovation, out of an initial 16, emerged to face for the grand finale, set for live broadcast on Friday, June 26, from Aspire Sports Academy in Doha.
Being set in an original non-eliminatory format, ‘Stars of Science’ saw the 4 teams still in competition, show another side of their talents and introduce to the jury the business plans for their projects, as well as the targeted market segments and the strategies to reach them. Overall, the competition was tough, but the healthy team spirit prevailed.
The professional presentations, each injected with the participating candidate’s experience and skills learnt through the contest, were met with great attention by the jury. However, only two projects gained the access to the highly-anticipated finale:
1. “Dozan”, an automatic tuner for string instrument, led by Bassam Jalgha (Lebanon) 2. “Orsod”, a testing device for cooking oil, led by Mohammed Orsod (Sudan),
In addition, the show was full of emotional moments, notably when the candidates family members surprised them on the set.
The contest will now move into the final stage, starting with the formation of the 2 competing teams, as Bassam and Mohammed will pick up new comrades from the 2 projects that have not be selected by the jury.
The main challenge of the live finale requires the two teams to prepare a launching event for their products, in order to win the 300,000 USD prize.
The winner will be selected by the TV viewers across the Arab world, who are already able to vote via the SMS and telephone numbers given on air.
