BERN, Switzerland, December 10 - swissinfo.ch launches its "Climate Summit Copenhagen" special dossier
looking at the impact of global warming and the challenges for Switzerland as
the world debates climate change in Copenhagen.
Since the beginning of the week, politicians and heads of governments
have been meeting to discuss global warming. The goal is to negotiate a
binding agreement for countries to mitigate climate change. Switzerland's
role is "not unimportant", said Environment Minister Moritz Leuenberger,
explaining that "Switzerland's influence, bearing in mind its population and
size, is significant. Furthermore, we have competent scientists".
swissinfo.ch is following developments at the conference and is also
detailing the challenges facing Switzerland in the areas of research, energy
and tourism. The special dossier "Climate Summit Copenhagen" is available in
English, German, French and Italian and includes reports, background
information, analysis, reportages and interviews with politicians and
environmental specialists. With the swissinfo.ch climate quiz you can test
your knowledge of climate change, energy policy and environmental protection.
