LONDON - Ticketmaster, a Ticketmaster Entertainment, Inc. (NASDAQ:TKTM) company, is pleased to announce it has signed a new contract extension with Queens Park Rangers Football Club. As part of the deal Ticketmaster will be providing QPR with its access control system AccessManager and TicketFast(R) technology.
Ticketmaster will install its well-established access control system, AccessManager, at Loftus Road Stadium. AccessManager will allow QPR to utilise and coordinate all of their ticketing services, providing an innovative and complete ticketing solution. Instead of a season ticket voucher book, QPR Season Ticket holders will receive bar coded season cards to access the stadium. Additionally, when season ticket holders purchase tickets for other QPR matches at Loftus Road, their bar coded season card can be automatically updated to admit them. Customers purchasing individual match day tickets will also be using bar coded tickets for quick entry. Each ticket has a unique barcode for security, which is scanned at the stadium using Ticketmaster’s AccessManager. The system validates tickets in real-time and deters counterfeiters by identifying fraudulent and invalid tickets and denying access.
AccessManager also allows QPR’s fans to take full advantage of Ticketmaster’s TicketFast(R) ticketing. Supporters who book seats online will be able to print their TicketFast(R) tickets at home and present them at turnstiles, providing a simplified booking and access process.
Chris Edmonds, Managing Director, Ticketmaster UK, said: “We are excited by the opportunity to extend our already excellent relationship with Queens Park Rangers Football Club. The introduction of our AccessManager system at Loftus Road will give the club enhanced access control whilst allowing them to take advantage of our TicketFast(R) ticketing technology. This allows QPR to take make full use of our continued investment in innovative ticketing solutions, which will ultimately benefit their fans as well.”
QPR’s Deputy Managing Director, Ali Russell, said: “This is an excellent deal for the Club, which will only serve to enhance the already positive matchday experience we have on offer at Loftus Road. The Board of Directors is wholly committed to investing in all areas of the business and this agreement extension with Ticketmaster fits in line with their aims and objectives of improving our fans’ experience.”
Russell added: “The introduction of AccessManager and TicketFast(R) technology very much brings us in line with a number of the big Clubs in this country, whilst also allowing us to move into the 21st century and be a huge benefit to our fans.”
