Currys Launches New Essentials Value Range
LONDON, October 11, 2010 - Currys - the UK's largest electrical retailer - has launched a new range
of basic, "no frills" appliances. The Essentials collection, which
encompasses a breadth of everyday domestic products - from TVs to toasters,
washing machines to whisks - offers no-nonsense products, for those who
want electricals that simply get the job done, at the lowest prices.
The Essentials range features straight-forward clean design and basic
functionality, for products that focus on doing the job at hand, enabling
Currys to produce them at prices that will be a real welcome to anyone who's
watching the pennies. The products provide an attractive and
'value' alternative to Currys' other own-brand ranges that include more
premium, creative and design-led offerings.
With small kitchen appliances starting at under a fiver - consumers are
be able to pick up a kettle from just GBP4.79 and a 2-slice toaster for just
GBP6.99 - the range is expected to be warmly received. Larger items are also
well priced, meaning consumers can treat themselves to a brand new washing
machine for as little as GBP159.99, while an Essentials fridge with ice box
can be picked up for the bargain price of just GBP99.
Anthony Morris, Head of Business Development at Currys comments: "The
Essentials range is a response to the greater consumer demand for value
products that perform basic functions - that are easy to operate and perform
well with little complication.
"Currys has a long history in electricals, so who better than us to bring
out a range of essential electrical products that consumers can really rely
on to do the job at hand. Functional, honest and great value for money, we
expect the range to be popular among those on a tight budget, such as
students who are always looking to save money, people setting up their first
home and families who want simplicity and reliability in their everyday
electrical products, alongside prices that can't be beaten."
The Essentials range launched in all Currys and Megastores nationwide on
9th September 2010 and is available to buy online at
www.currys.co.uk.
Currys is the UK's biggest electrical retailer with a network of over 500
