LONDON, October 18, 2011 -
Today Virgin Interactive Publishing announced its interactive iPad magazine, PROJECT, is now available on Newsstand, a key feature of iOS 5. Along with the ability to subscribe at a reduced per-issue price, subscribers can now benefit from added convenience - both in accessing the magazine and receiving new issues.
“PROJECT Magazine was made to realize the future of publishing and the full potential of feature rich, interactive tablets such as the iPad. Whilst we believe we’ve achieved that with Project’s reading experience, Newsstand now also delivers this on the purchasing and download experience. It is the realization of many of the opportunities we’ve been working to achieve on the iOS platform,” said Giovanni Donaldson, founder of PROJECT and Virgin Interactive Publishing.
Once purchased, PROJECT will appear in the subscriber’s Newsstand. Newsstand features automatic background downloading when new issues are released, bringing unparalleled convenience to the purchasing and download process.
“Readers are used to being able to easily find their favorite magazines on a shelf at their local newsstand or have subscription magazines delivered to their doorstep on release,” added Francis Malone, CEO and co-founder of Virgin Interactive Publishing. “As such it’s only right and expected for us to provide the same level of convenience for digital magazines in the future. We’re delighted that we can already offer this for PROJECT readers through Newsstand and further advance and compliment the groundbreaking interactive reading experience that PROJECT stands for.”
Download PROJECT from Newsstand in iOS 5, from the App Store on iPad, or at www.itunes.com/appstore.
