VisitDenmark Partners With Expedia for Online Advertising Campaign to Promote Travel to Copenhagen

LONDON - Campaign will reach travelers on Expedia sites across Europe with new homepage spotlight service

Expedia, the world’s leading online travel company, today announced a new partnership with VisitDenmark for the first-ever multi-country homepage spotlight campaign from Expedia Media Solutions. During the week of June 8, the Danish capital Copenhagen is prominently featured in advertising space on the homepages of Expedia sites in France (www.expedia.fr), Germany (www.expedia.de), Italy (www.expedia.it) and the UK (www.expedia.co.uk), which are highlighting the city’s most popular attractions and offering cost-saving deals on trips to Denmark.

In addition to a branded VisitDenmark overlay on each homepage, each of the participating Expedia sites will feature dedicated microsites. These sites let Expedia visitors explore the Copenhagen art scene, learn about the city’s many festivals and save money with Expedia’s travel deals, all on a single Copenhagen-specific microsite.

Travelers from France, Germany, Italy and the UK stayed more than 1 million room nights in Denmark in 2008. This partnership helps Expedia customers in those countries discover Copenhagen’s wide range of attractions, lodging and travel options through rich content that delivers high profile exposure for VisitDenmark on some of Europe’s most popular travel websites.
