SHANGHAI, August 31, 2010 - Nearly a third (29 per cent) of office workers regularly take advantage
of their bosses going on holiday, spending up to an extra three hours or more
a day surfing the Internet on non-work related topics. Research carried out
amongst 2,003 UK residents by YouGov Plc on behalf of www.everydaysale.co.uk
between 16 and 19 July 2010.

According to an online YouGov poll for leading discount voucher site
everydaysale.co.uk, 18 - 24 year olds are the worst culprits with 47 per cent
admitting to spending extra time online, eight per cent of which stated that
this was in excess of three hours a day. The older generations are the best
behaved, with 65 per cent of 45 to 54 year olds never sneakily surfing when
the boss is away.

Geographically, 30 per cent of office workers in the West Midlands slack
off for up to half an hour a day. However, five per cent of those in the East
of England and the South West ditch their workloads, spending more than three
hours a day online while at work.

The results revealed that workers in Yorkshire and Humberside are the
most trustworthy, with 65 per cent never spending extra time online when
their manager is away soaking up the sun. This dropped to 56 per cent in the
South East and just 52 per cent in Scotland, East of England and the West
Midlands
.

"Attitudes to surfing the net for personal reasons during work hours vary
dramatically across different areas of the UK," said Bonn Chen, CEO at
everydaysale.co.uk. "Bosses have to trust their staff to take charge when
they jet off for a well deserved break but this shouldn't be abused, perhaps
sticking to a few favourite sites at break and lunchtimes."

All figures, unless otherwise stated, are from YouGov Plc. Total sample
size was 2,003 adults. Fieldwork was undertaken between 16th - 19th July
2010
. The survey was carried out online. The figures have been weighted and
are representative of all GB adults (aged 18+)
