The competition was judged by freediving governing body, AIDA (International Association for the Development of Freediving) and the former record holder at 96m was British freediver Sara Campbell ( www.theunderwaterchannel.tv/face/sara-campbell ) and this record was claimed earlier this year. Of the dive Natalia said “Today I did 101 because Sara (Campbell) before tried 100. Nobody tried it before me. Now, I tried it.”

This marks Natalia’s 25th world record. She is currently holding five of the possible six world freediving records. This outstanding individual was classed as the top freediver in the world in 2005 and 2006, even over and above the men’s category.

Nicholas Claxton, Emmy award-winning Founder and MD of The Underwater Channel said “This is truly an amazing achievement and Natalia deserves huge praise. The bar has been raised again and we are very proud to be featuring her historic world record dive on The Underwater Channel.”
