LONDON - Open to both Primary and Secondary school pupils from across the UK, the latest ‘mission’ in Renaissance Learning’s ‘Quest for Knowledge’ comes from Carnegie Medal-winning author Theresa Breslin. Primary pupils are invited to journey back to Ancient Egypt with Cy from her Dream Master series of books, whilst the Secondary ‘mission’ takes inspiration from her critically acclaimed book Remembrance.

Theresa encourages Primary pupils to “Follow the Pharaoh! Explore Ancient Egypt and go on a ‘Quest for Knowledge’ and win unique prizes!”, whilst Secondary pupils are urged to “Discover the battlefields of the Western Front in a Quest for older readers set in World War One with special prizes available to win.”

Free to enter at www.watchthemgrow.co.uk/quest, the ‘Quest’ culminates at Renaissance Learning’s National Conference. Taking place at the Holiday Inn, Stratford-upon-Avon, on 18-19th March 2010, this exciting event will be opened by new Children’s Laureate Anthony Browne and Jacqueline Wilson - visit www.renlearn.co.uk for more information.

Dirk Foch, Managing Director, Renaissance Learning UK Ltd., comments:

“As the new School Year begins, the Renaissance Learning ‘Quest for Knowledge’ continues to go from strength to strength, and Theresa Breslin’s separate ‘missions’ for Primary and Secondary pupils are set to both challenge and captivate them.”

Theresa Breslin comments:

“The Renaissance Learning ‘Quest for Knowledge’ is an innovative and interesting way of tempting young people into reading. They’ll not resist the challenge to sleuth their way to stories!”
