Barcode Scanning Diet App for UK Slimmers Launched by Nutracheck

The UK’s first weight loss App that scans barcodes on food products has been launched by Nutracheck.co.uk

The new iPhone calorie counter App is part of its online diet service and makes keeping track of your diet even easier. Simply focus on a product barcode, click to capture, then add it to the food diary which tots up your daily calorie intake.

Tim Vryenhoef NutraTech MD said “We wanted to make our calorie counter as simple to use as possible. You can find and add food with just a couple of clicks which means you’re more likely to keep your food diary up to date. The more accurately you keep it, the more successful your weight loss will be”.

Nutracheck’s App differs from others in the marketplace in that it has a UK food database with over 100,000 foods. Weights and servings are for UK consumers, whereas other Apps use US databases.

For members of Nutracheck’s online food and exercise diary service, the App adds a new dimension. “I couldn’t always get to my computer, but now I can add things at any time” commented one member, “it’s intuitive and simple”.

The App shows how many calories you have left for the day on the home screen icon, without the need to open it.  As well as the calorie counter and food diary, the App gives access to Nutracheck’s slimming community to read and post messages, great for support and encouragement. Weekly weigh ins can be recorded and weight loss progress is shown in a motivating graph.
