Universal Pictures' Hit Film Franchise to Make Massively Multiplayer Online Game Debut in Winter 2010
SAN FRANCISCO, June 3, 2010 - The global market leader in browser-based Massively Multiplayer Online
Games (MMOG), Bigpoint, (www.bigpoint.com) today announced that it is
developing a browser-based MMOG based upon Universal Pictures' The Mummy film
franchise. Developed in partnership with Universal Partnerships & Licensing,
The Mummy Online will only be available online at www.bigpoint.com and
will be delivered to gamers worldwide in Winter 2010.
In The Mummy Online, a free-to-play Action-RPG MMO game with adventure
elements inspired by the films, players will take on heroic roles as
adventure seekers with various talents and skills that will allow their
characters to be unique within the MMO virtual world. Set in Egypt during the
first half of the twentieth century, gamers will experience familiar
environments and key characters from the film franchises as they battle
against each other and ancient evil.
