Britain and Russia Together to Celebrate 65th Anniversary of Great Victory in London

MOSCOW, April 12, 2010 - This will be the fourth year, as Russian and British veterans of the
Arctic Convoys (1941-1945) join together on board HMS Belfast in London to
celebrate 9 May Victory Day and the 65th Anniversary of the Great Victory in
WW2. The commemorative ceremony will include the Russian Ambassador, Yury
Fedotov
, who will award the 65th Anniversary Medal to a number of British
Convoy veterans. Following the minute's silence, the Royal Signals Band will
perform Russian and British anthems and HMS Belfast 4-inch guns will fire in
salute of the heroism of the Arctic Convoys and the veterans. "Up Spirits!"
ceremony with Pusser's Rum will launch the celebrative meal and friendly
interaction among veterans and guests.

During this event, cash will be raised for the charity fund
"Help for Heroes" in aid for veterans of recent wars
