The Climate Index Declines and the Future Anticipation Cools Down

BEIJING, January 26, 2011 - China Economic Monitoring Center of China National Bureau of Statistics
and Sinotrust International Information & Consulting (Beijing) jointly
released the "2010 Q4 China Automotive Industry Climate Index".

1. The China Automotive Industry Climate Index recorded 103.2 points in
Q4 of 2010 (2001=100), down 1.6 point over the pervious quarter and returning
to normal gradually.

2. The Pre-warning Index registered 120.0 points in Q4 of 2010, down 6.7
points from the previous wave and moving close the "Green Zone."

3. The Auto Industry Entrepreneur Expectation Index registered 108.0
points in Q4 of 2010, down 13.1 points from the previous quarter.

4. The Dealer Manager Index registered 105.0 points in Q4 of 2010, down
10.8 points compared with the previous quarter.

The China Automotive Industry Climate Index in Q4 of 2010 continued Q3's
slight decline and returns to normal gradually. Specifically, most indicators
related to auto industry's operation and production have successfully entered
the "Green Zone". Moreover, business scope expansion and product structure
optimization together boost a remarkable growth in the performance of the
2010 automotive industry. Both entrepreneurs and dealers are very satisfied
with the auto market in Q4 but they are not that confident in car sales in Q1
of 2011 which causes a decline in the Confidence Index.

The growth rate of car production and sales in Q1 of 2011 is expected to
substantially slow down due to the previous high record in Q1 of 2010 and
policy changes that advance the purchase action of some car buyers. However,
in general, the auto consumption in China is just on the threshold, and the
auto demands in both cities and rural areas are increasing. Therefore, the
automotive industry will embrace a promising future, and the auto production
and sales volumes in 2011 will continue to show a steady growth.
