Cooper Standard Expands Automotive Sealing and Fluid Handling Operations to Romania

NOVI, Michigan, August 10, 2011 -
Cooper Standard today announced plans to establish a new manufacturing facility in Craiova, Romania further expanding its global automotive body sealing and fluid handling businesses. Plans for the new facility, which were announced by Cooper Standard’s Chief Operating Officer Keith Stephenson, are currently in process.
“This is yet another example of Cooper Standard’s strategy to support our global customers as they expand around the world,” Stephenson said. “In addition to initially supporting Ford, our new Romanian operations will offer sealing and fluid handling products to our other global customers.”
The site will house Cooper Standard’s manufacturing operations and offices. At full capacity, the operation is slated to employ more than 150 people.
With the addition of this facility, Cooper Standard will operate in 19 countries around the world, including Australia, Belgium, Brazil, Canada, China, Czech Republic, France, Germany, India, Italy, Japan, Korea, Mexico, Netherlands, Poland, Thailand, United Kingdom and United States.
