LONDON, July 20, 2011 -

Following extensive research and development, CRU will officially
increase the frequency of their monthly US Midwest Plate (A36)
price index to weekly from July 20th.

“With the continued success of our weekly hot-rolled,
cold-rolled and galvanised coil price indices in North America,
plate is a natural extension of our flat products portfolio”,
commented Robert Edwards, CRU’s North American flat products
analyst. He went on to say, “A weekly assessment of actual spot
transactions for plate will provide transparency in a market where
pronounced price volatility has become the new reality for steel
market participants”.

John Kovacs, Editor of the CRU Steel Monitor stated, “As of July
20
th we will publish weekly price assessments for US
Midwest Plate, which will only be available to data providers and
CRU Steel Monitor subscribers. This is part of our ongoing efforts
to offer clients even more robust analysis of global finished steel
markets”.
