LOS ANGELES - Dot Eco LLC is proud to support Roz Savage, the British ocean rower and environmental campaigner, in her upcoming effort to row solo across the Pacific. Roz’s boat, the Brocade, will bear the “Dot Eco” logo on this historic voyage. Roz will also be featured in a video profiling outstanding supporters of “.eco” including Al Gore, Carl Pope and Roger Moore.
“We all need to pull together to take immediate action on climate change. Through .eco we can find each other more easily to combine forces. I’m doing my bit — rowing solo across oceans to inspire people to action,” said Savage, who discovered the “.eco” project at www.supportdoteco.com.
After successfully rowing across the Atlantic Ocean alone, Roz set her sights on bigger, wilder waters. In 2008 she completed Stage 1 of her trans-Pacific journey, becoming the first woman to row solo from California to Hawaii. Stage 2 launches in May 2009, with Roz’s sights set ultimately on arriving in Australia. Roz shares her seafaring adventures online - through blogs, videos, podcasts and Twitter - inspiring people to live happier, more fulfilling, more sustainable lives. Supporters can follow Roz’s adventures at sea by visiting www.rozsavage.com.
“We’re excited to contribute to this unique and inspiring undertaking. Roz’s courage and determination inspire all of us, and demonstrate that we can solve the environmental challenges that lie ahead,” said Fred Krueger, CEO of Dot Eco LLC.
Dot Eco LLC was founded by Fred Krueger, Clark Landry and Minor Childers to secure, operate and promote the .eco top level domain in order to promote environmental initiatives and awareness. Dot Eco LLC will apply for the .eco top level domain through the ICANN gTLD application process in late 2009. For more information visit: www.supportdoteco.com.
Website and email addresses ending in .eco will enable individuals to express support for environmental causes, companies to promote environmental initiatives and environmental organizations to maintain websites in a namespace that is relevant to their core missions. By charter and mission, a majority of .eco profits will be distributed to support environmental causes.
Dot Eco LLC recently entered into an integrated partnership with former Vice President Al Gore and his philanthropy “Alliance for Climate Protection” and is partnering with Sierra Club, which supports Dot Eco LLC’s efforts to raise awareness about the dangers of climate change.
